HARROW Athletic Club's Leigh Latti-more continued her superb late season form by finishing 10th in the prestigious English Schools U18 championships at Stanford on Saturday, writes Tony Bush.

The 18-year-old was injured for most of the winter but has returned with a bang and this great result is a good reward for her hard work.

Phillipa Lowe, the club's 800 metres specialist, produced a solid over-distance display to finish 138th.

Sky Draper has also had injury problems but she ran well for 69th in the U14 race. Adele Rainsford finished 296th in the same event.

Meanwhile, Adam Bowden made a great triathlon debut, placing seventh in the South African national championships, which took place at Germiston, near Johannesburg, on Saturday.

Elsewhere Mark Cursons took the silver medal in the Middlesex veterans' championships at Ruislip, leading Harrow to fourth spot in the team race.

Daniel Watkins finished 16th and Mike Baron ran well to take 17th spot after six months out with injury. Kevin Draper was Harrow's fourth scorer in 22nd place.

Mike Lepps and Terry McIntyre finished eighth and ninth respectively to lead Harrow to fourth in the Over 50 race. Kevin Canconnan and Ross Bloom provided welcome support.

Angela Barrett won two medals in the recent British Universities indoor championships, clearing 5.64m in the long jump and 12.52m in the triple jump. Dean Goodman continued his excellent winter season by taking silver in the 800 metres, with a fast 1.51.49.

The girls' team had a hard act to follow but Carys Charles astounded her teachers by winning the Year 7 race. The other girls also ran well and took third place in the team event.

Claremont also enjoyed fine individual results in the older year groups with Vinothen Satyamoorthy coming fourth in his race and Robert Hastings finishing fifth.
