MANAGER Neal Ardley was delighted with the impact his AFC Wimbledon substitutes had in Saturday’s win at York.

The Dons moved up to third in League Two as a double from on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Chris Arthur did the damage in a 2-0 victory at Bootham Crescent.

Chris Arthur took just a matter of seconds to make a difference after coming off the bench at the weekend as he laid on an assist for Smith’s second of the afternoon.

Ardley believes he possesses a much stronger Wimbledon squad this season and admits he is spoilt for choice when he wants to make changes.

“I look on the bench and see lots of options for us,” Ardley told Dons Player. “You are almost itching to put a substitute on.

“I am asking the players to put in a shift, but there is always the option to freshen it up. We saw that today with what Chris Arthur came on and did.

“It is about consistency now and racking up the points. It was a classic away victory.”

Table-toppers Chesterfield are next up for Ardley’s in-form Wimbledon and the Dons will be full of confidence after their battling win at York.
