ANDY Scott has ordered Ben Strevens and Carl Cort to hit the back of the net more regularly as he casts out his own net for a new striker.

The Brentford boss has been left with just three strikers at his disposal after former loanee, John Akinde returned to Bristol City this week.

And while Charlie MacDonald has struck 10 goals this season, Strevens and Cort are lagging well behind on three and four respectively.

Scott said: "John going back isn’t a new challenge for Ben and Carl; the challenge has always been for them to get on the scoreheet, as scoring goals is what strikers are judged on.

“But scoring is much harder in League One, and we need the rest of the team to chip in with some goals too, not just the strikers."
