BRENTFORD boss Andy Scott has challenged Karleigh Osborne to maintain his good form to earn a new deal.

The Bees defender has stepped up to the plate in the last three games to help stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches, including Saturday's impressive win against high-flying Huddersfield .

Osborne, who is out of contract in the summer, has starred at right-back and centre-half, but Scott says he must keep up his level of performance to extend his stay at Griffin Park.

He said: "If Karleigh does it until the end of the season then he has proved he can play consistently well every week.

"It is a tough ask to go from right-back to centre-half against good players -  Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson have scored a lot of goals this season.

"He is getting on with his job and was probably the latest in a long line of players to get a kick up the backside.

"If he gets the job done I’ll keep kicking him up the backside, and if he is getting the results and putting in the performances I’m sure he doesn’t mind me doing it."
