HOUNSLOW swimming star Alex Garnett landed a double silver at this week's South East Region Youth competition in Aldershot.

HOUNSLOW swimming star Alex Garnett landed a double silver at this week's South East Region Youth competition in Aldershot.

Competing for Staines Swimming Club, the Longford School pupil came second in both the 50m (23.83 secs) and 100m freestyle (53.58).

The latter was Garnett's second qualifying time for this summer's National Championships.

He is now also ranked third in his age group in the country for the 50m freestyle.
