CURTIS Osano has joined AFC Wimbledon after his contract expired with Luton Town.

The 25-year-old Kenyan defender joins Terry Brown’s Dons on a free transfer and becomes the clubs first signing of the summer.

Osano made 32 appearances for the Hatters last term as the club narrowly missed out on promotion to League Two.

He said: “I spoke to Terry and he told me where the club is hoping to go. He told me that he knows what the problems were last season and he is trying to fix them next season. I think the club will progress and I want to be a part of it.

“Once I got my medical done I just wanted to sign as the chance to work again with Terry for a Football League team was too good to turn down.”

The Dons were in dire need of defensive re-enforcements following the departures of Jamie Stuart, Fraser Franks, Sam Hatton, Chris Bush and Gareth Gwillim.

Boss Brown said: "I was very lucky to work with Curtis when he was an apprentice at Reading. He came in and played centre-back at the time, but since then he has developed into a good right-back.

“He is a beast of a boy, who has great power and strength and is a very good overall defender. Curtis will give us an outlet in that right-back spot as he is capable of bursting down the wing and I think he will be a great signing for the club. He is a boy who has played against us for Rushden and Jamie Stuart spoke incredibly highly of him.”
