A LATE Luke Moore (pictured) strike was not enough to prevent AFC Wimbledon crashing out of the Capital One Cup at the first stage at Millwall tonight.
Following a goalless first half, the Dons fell behind when Andy Keogh gave the hosts the lead with a left-footed strike seven minutes after the interval following a blunder from Dons keeper Ross Worner.
AFC’s task was made all the harder when Jermaine Easter teed up Martyn Woolford to double the Lions’ lead with another left-footed finish with 15 minutes remaining.
Dons substitute Moore, who had only been on the pitch for 20 minutes, gave the visitors hope when he pulled a goal back with a minute remaining following an assist from Charlie Sheringham, the son of former Millwall man Teddy, but it was too little too late.
