BRENDAN Kiernan has edged closer to making his AFC Wimbledon exit after the club accepted his transfer request.
Kiernan this week stunned boss Terry Brown with the news that he wishes to leave Kingsmeadow and the Dons have now accepted his request.
The 19-year-old still has two years left to run on the contract he signed last January but has decided to leave after making one start and seven substitute appearances last term.
Dons chief executive Erik Samuelson said: “Brendan is a talented player and Terry Brown had earmarked him as part of his long-term plans. That is why we offered him an extended contract in January, which he signed.
“However, Brendan now wishes to leave the club and we have decided not to stand in his way. We are seeking a fee for his transfer."
