Neal Ardley is hoping to sign one more forward to complete his AFC Wimbledon squad.
Ardley is working on a tight budget and has hinted he may not have the funds to bring in the calibre of player needed to improve the squad.
If he can’t find a suitable attacker before deadline day the Dons manager is considering dipping into the loan market when the window opens on September 8.
“I think we could do with bringing another player in,” he told Dons Player.
“We’ve had a look and it could end up being a loan player because with the money we’ve got a permanent signing would not bring the quality that we want. We are certainly looking at attacking areas and we have a couple on our list.
“We are going to watch some games this week, but if we cannot get it done by Monday then we will not rush it. It would therefore be a week later when we would be looking to do something. We feel that it would massively add to the squad.”
AFC Wimbledon are due to host Stevenage at Kingsmeadow this weekend.
