In-demand Adam Forshaw returned to action this afternoon as he played an hour of Brentford’s Development Squad match with Crewe Alexandra.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of two transfer bids from Championship rivals Wigan Athletic and is yet to feature for the first-team this season.

Forshaw has two years remaining on his Bees contract but has been unsettled by the Lactics’ lengthy pursuit.

He was given time off by boss Mark Warburton and is yet to achieve full fitness after undergoing ankle surgery and picking up a hamstring problem.

Jose Peleteiro Ramallo's arrival from Real Club Celta de Vigo for an undisclosed fee has also cast further doubt over the long-term future of Forshaw at Brentford.
