We reported yesterday that Fulham are set to do battle with Newcastle United, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End for Manchester City youngster Tosin Adarabioyo, according to The Manchester Evening News.

It’s widely expected that the 19-year-old, who is highly thought of in the City set-up, will be allowed to leave to club on loan due to first team opportunities within Pep Guardiola’s side expected to be difficult to come by.

But who is the sought-after defender? We take a look.

  • Adarabioyo was born in Manchester but is of Nigerian heritage. He has represented England up to under-19 level but would still be eligible to play for the African side at senior level if he so chooses.
  • Stands at 196cm, meaning that the 19-year-old is 6ft 6in tall, one of the tallest members of the City squad.
  • He has made four appearances for Pep Guardiola's side in the past year and has been a regular in their academy sides.
  • Guardiola has earmarked the young defender as a potential future captain for Manchester City, and offered the defender a new four-year deal earlier this summer which sees him earn a reporter £40,000 per week.
