Brentford boss Mark Warburton has warned potential new recruits that the club will not be held to ransom over wage demands.
The Bees have already been linked with a string of players, with the likes of Luke Ayling, Simeon Jackson and Andy Keogh among the names being mooted.
But Warburton insists Brentford won’t be splashing the cash after promotion from League One.
He said: “We are looking at new signings all over the park but it’s important to keep the financial structure in place.
“Just because we have moved up a level it doesn’t mean we can start breaking the bank.
“The boys here are well looked after and there’s already a good incentive scheme in place at the club.
“They were taken to Vegas as reward for their efforts this season and they will go to Florida for pre-season.”
