Brentford manager Mark Warburton watched from the stands as Arsenal's Chuba Akpom hammered a hat-trick in their 6-1 FA Youth Cup win against Peterborough United last night.

The Bees are in advanced talks to sign the highly-rated 18-year-old on loan, although injury to Theo Walcott could scupper the deal.

Peterborough, Leyton Orient and MK Dons are also fighting it out for his signature, but the League One leaders remain front of the queue.

However, Arsenal may block a move for Akpom with their striking options limited following Walcott's injury.

Meanwhile, Brentford are set to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder Alan Judge on loan for the rest of the season.
