Reading are planning a surprise swoop for Fulham forward Sone Aluko, according to reports online.

Aluko only joined the West London side last summer on a free transfer from Hull City, and made an immediate impact at Craven Cottage.

The 28-year-old scored nine goals as Fulham reached the play-off semi finals, where they were beaten by the Royals.

It’s thought that Jaap Stam is keen to boost his attacking line as they aim to go one better than last season, with an experienced Championship forward being the priority.

Aluko’s versatility is a big asset over a 46-game season, meaning the thought of losing the forward would be a big blow for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.
