QPR have granted Peterborough United permission to speak to midfielder Michael Doughty, according to Peterborough Today.

The 24-year-old have been in discussions regarding a deal for Doughty since the end of last season, but the Hoops have reportedly granted permission to speak to the player.

According to the paper, manager Ian Holloway has now told Posh that they can sign the midfielder for nothing, if they can agree personal terms.

Doughty has just one year remaining on his new deal, and it's anticipated that he may need to take a pay-cut to make the move due to his wages at Loftus Road.

The midfielder has started just six matches in six years for QPR, had a loan spell at Swindon Town last season where he scored two goals in 14 appearances.
