Tottenham are the latest club plotting a move for Former Fulham defender Chris Smalling, according to the Daily Mail.

The defender is deemed to be surplus to requirements at Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho looking to mount a title challenge next season.

Smalling is expected to be one of the first names out of the door, with clubs such as Arsenal, West Ham, West Brom and Everton also interested.

The 27-year-old from London signed for Fulham from Maidstone United in June 2008 before moving on to Manchester United in 2010.

It's thought that a fee in the region of £15m would be enough to secure the signing of the England defender, which may lead to Fulham receiving a percentage of the fee.
