QPR midfielder Leroy Fer has has beaten the transfer deadline to join Premier League side Swansea on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old will spend the second half of the campaign at the Liberty Stadium, subject to international clearance, after the R’s accepted an undisclosed loan offer for his services.

Fer arrived at Loftus Road in the summer of 2014 from Norwich City and has made 50 appearances for the Hoops in all competitions.

Reports emerged a deal was close to take him to Wales when his former R’s team-mate Charlie Austin tweeted the player and gave the game away.

The deal has now been concluded in advance of tonight’s 11pm deadline.
