Slavisa Jokanovic remains confident that Ryan Sessegnon will stay at Fulham during the January transfer window, but has admitted whether the club sell him is out of his control.

Tottenham and Manchester United are among the clubs chasing the 17-year-old, with rumours circulating left, right and centre about £50m and £20m bids - one of which includes the transfer of twin brother Steven too.

The final say of who comes and who goes is still down to the club's recruitment department, led by Tony Khan, and it is he who will have final say on whether the club cash in on their prized asset.

However, Sessegnon signed a three-year deal in the summer and has previously spoken of his love for "his club", and while Jokanovic insist Fulham must keep their best players in order to be competitive, he understands the business side of transfers.

He said: "Yes [I am confident], if we want to be competitive we must keep our important players.

"All the questions are what the value of this player is, but myself, as a coach, I prefer to stay with the more important players for the competition that is ahead of us, but on the other side I can understand the business side too.

"In this moment, I am not thinking of being without him for the season, but it is not under my control."
