QPR U23 player Dan Darbyshire has signed a one-year professional deal at Loftus Road.

The 19-year-old joined the youth set-up at QPR when he was 13 years old, and has since gone on to make 20 appearances for Paul Hall’s U23 side, netting five times.

QPR U23’s play tonight against Leeds United in the Premier Development League 2 South away at Elland Road, and Darbyshire will be hoping to mark his pro contract with a goal or two for the youth side.

The U23s last game finished with a 3-2 loss to Hull five days ago despite the R’s leading twice.

QPR U23’s manager Paul Hall said “There are loads of players who can break into the team. We’ve had seven debutants this year all knocking on the door in some shape or form.”

“We’ve got a group of hungry players trying to get into the first team and put pressure on them”.
