Niko Kranjcar found he had a new agent today when Matt Phillips bigged up former Hoop Niko Kranjcar as a great signing for Glasgow Rangers.

The two were team-mates at QPR for two seasons, remember the action from the video? And ex-Brentford boss Mark Warburton is interested in signing the Croation for the Scottish giants.

Kranjcar is on the verge of signing a two-year contract with Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers.

Scotland international winger Phillips believes that the 31-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur star would be a success at Rangers.

“Niko will bring a touch of class and a certain amount of flair to Rangers,”he said.

“He is, without a doubt, one of the best midfielders I have played with.

Heads up: Matt Phillips

“He is a magician with the ball. It doesn’t matter if it is on his right foot or left foot. He proved he was capable of doing big things in the Premier League with Portsmouth and Spurs so he will definitely be an asset to Rangers,” he told the Scottish Sun.

Warburton has already signed former QPR and Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton on a free in the summer transfer window.

Kranjcar admitted he was constantly haunted by his battle to keep his weight down during his career, and took a nosedive of a pay-cut to sign for Rangers the second time around in 2014.
