Alejandro Faurlin has urged Esteban Granero to stay at QPR and prove he can play in the Premier League.

The stylish Spanish midfielder failed to live up to his £9million price tag as Rangers were relegated from the top flight during his debut season at the club.

Granero was sent out on loan to Real Sociedad, but featured just a handful of times for the La Liga side after suffering a serious knee injury.

The former Real Madrid man is back with the Hoops and pal Faurlin hopes he sticks around to prove his doubters wrong.

Excited: QPR's Alejandro Faurlin is looking forward to playing in the Premier League

He said: “Esteban is a great player. If he left now, people would say 'Maybe he could have been a good Premier League player'.

“We have conversations and I say 'You need to stay and you need to make sure you play in the Premier League'. For me it's the best league.

“He's a great person and a great player and he will play well.”
