Ajax have turned down QPR’s opening bid for Icelandic striker Kolbein Sigthorsson.
Harry Redknapp lodged an offer for Sigthorsson over the weekend as he looks to bolster his squad for the forthcoming Premier League campaign.
The Rangers manager went to watch the forward in action last season and was impressed with the 24-year-old’s goalscoring instincts.
Sigthorsson regularly hit the net in Amsterdam last term and has scored 24 times in 59 league outings for Ajax since joining from AZ Alkmaar.
But Redknapp will have to consider increasing his bid for the striker after seeing his initial approach rebuffed by the Dutch giants, according to Sky Sports.
