QPR boss Harry Redknapp revealed he was about to bring back Adel Taarabt from his loan spell at Fulham when AC Milan moved in for the mercurial midfielder.

Instead, the manager chose another fragile temperament to challenge his coaching skills in Ravel Morrison – set to join Hoops imminently from West Ham on loan.

Rangers’ boss cooled on Taarabt after the two fell out at Hoops summer training camp after the Moroccan international made it plain he wanted out.

But had the Serie A giants not taken the player, Harry reckoned he would have returned him to Loftus Road.

The manager laughed when asked whether Clarence Seedorf, in his first coaching role at the San Siro, had his hands full with both Taarabt and Mario Ballotelli in his squad.

“It’ll be interesting that’s for sure,” said Redknapp.

“And yeah, I would have done at that time (brought Taarabt back), but Milan came in so it was difficult.”
