QPR have been linked with a move for Perugia defender Salvatore Monaco, according to established Italian site gianlucadimarzio.com.

The 24-year-old, who just missed out on winning promotion to Italian Serie A last season, has been linked with a move as he looks to progress his career.

Monaco made 33 appearances for Perugia between Serie B and the Coppa Italia, and is thought be be attracting suitors from all around europe with his contract set to expire this summer, although his club are believed to have an option to keep him for an extra two years.

The defender from Naples, ha previously played for clubs including Casale, Arzanese, Grosseto and Arezzo, before joining Perugia last year.
