QPR are preparing a bid for Brentford captain Jake Bidwell, according to The Mirror.

The former Everton full-back has racked more than 200 appearances for the Bees since he moved to Griffin Park initially on loan in November 2011.

The 23-year-old was virtually an ever present and only missed 118 minutes of the season with a hamstring injury in April.

However, Bidwell is approaching the final 12 months of his contract in west London and has yet commit his long-term future to the club.

“Talks are ongoing. It was put on hold until after the end of the season,” Bidwell said earlier this month.

The Hoops have made an initial enquiry but have yet to table an offer for the Southport-born defender, who is valued at £3million.

Everton also included a 50 per cent sell-on clause in the deal that saw him move permanently to the Bees in 2013.

Bidwell scored three goals for Brentford last season, all of them coming away form home.
