QPR defender Oguchi Onyewu is poised to leave Loftus Road when his contract expires later this month.

The towering defender signed a short-term deal back in October as cover for the injured Nedum Onuoha, but has failed to make a single appearance for the R's.

And boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed the Championship club won't be offering the 31-year-old American fresh terms.

He said: “Oguchi’s still here and is fit, but I think he’s looking to move now. His contract is up in a week or two.”

Onyewu is set to follow striker Javier Chevanton out of the exit door.

The Uruguayan striker left QPR last month after managing just two substitute appearances during his three-month stint in W12.
