QPR have agreed a fee with Ajax for striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and are confident of tying up a deal for Rio Ferdinand this week.
Harry Redknapp has been tracking Icelandic striker Sigthorsson for some time and looks to have finally snared his man.
A fee of around £5million has proven enough to persuade the Dutch giants to part with their forward.
The move now hinges on personal terms and Sigthorsson, who the R’s boss made a personal check on last season, successfully passing a medical at Loftus Road.
Ferdinand agreed in principle to the move at the start of the month but QPR have had to wait to rubber stamp the deal.
However, it looks as though Rangers have missed out on the signing of Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker.
But it looks as though he will have to look elsewhere for re-enforcements as Caulker is being tipped to join Crystal Palace instead.
