Harry Redknapp has ruled out a loan move for Toronto striker Jermain Defoe.

The QPR chief signed the frontman at West Ham, Portsmouth and Spurs and was keen to bring him to Loftus Road in January.

Defoe signed a money-spinning deal with the MLS outfit instead but could return to England during the off-season.

"To bring Jermain here for just two months would only be a distraction I think," Redknapp said.

Distraction: Jermain Defoe's arrival could see QPR take their eye off the ball

“If he came permanently, if he said 'listen, I want to come back to England' I would be the first in the queue but that's not going to happen.

“To bring him back for two months would be a waste of time.”
