QPR’s boss wants Olamide Shodipo and Osman Kakay to get league experience elsewhere.

The exciting prospects made debuts this term, but neither is likely to get much game time for the rest of the campaign.

Instead, loan spells like the ones endured or enjoyed, depending on your point of view, by Michael Doughty and Darnell Furlong at Swindon is what’s needed.

Ian Holloway also pointed out what’s missing from their skill set – especially winger Shodipo.

You read the player's imminent loan here first. Here's a reminder of how we broke the story.

“Every time I've put him on, unfortunately the team has let a goal in,” the boss added.

“It's not necessarily his fault, but he needs to work on that other side of it. He's brilliant going forward; he'd probably do better with a little bit of a loan spell.

Loan Ranger: Osman Kakay (L)

“I think he would benefit massively from a little spell like Furlong or Doughty.

“This place feels special to them now. Whenever you go out, you don't realise what everyone else is like.

“But sometimes the team shape and the team things that you need to do - which might not be your forte - you need to pick them up quickly.”

Osman Kakay got his debut at right-back in the 2-1 win over Rochdale in the EFL League Cup in August, and has since featured twice more.

But the right-back is back all right – back of the queue, in his case.

Ollie said: “I could play (James Perch) Perchy there (right-back) or move Nedum there.

“So I feel it's a challenge with Darnell coming back and I think Darnell's a bit ahead of him at the moment, and they're a similar age so Os needs to play and I definitely would consider that (a loan).”
