QPR manager Ian Holloway will be using January to decide Brandon Comley will stay in the first team setup at Loftus Road or be loaned out once again with his pal Marcus Bignot keen to have him back at Grimsby.

Comley has just returned to Loftus Road after a loan spell away at the Mariners where he impressed, scoring three goals in his time at Blundell Park.

Holloway gave the youngster a substitute cameo in their 1-0 victory over Reading and praised his enthusiasm and energy once arriving into the contest.

The QPR boss said: “Well I know he tackles and he gets his foot in and I thought we were looking a little bit tired.

"Obviously, Jamie’s done a lot for us but I actually thought that my midfield four were dropping and I know that the boy can get stuck in and put his foot in.”

“I don’t know yet (whether he will go back to Grimsby). It depends on what else I'm doing but let’s not ruin the boy’s night by saying he will.

"I thought he looked shocked but he couldn’t wait to get on there and to be fair he’s looking pretty bright in training.”
