The £4 million QPR received for Tjaronn Chery has boosted chances of getting a new striker before the transfer window closes tomorrow night.

Rangers had to twiddle their thumbs awaiting payment from Chinese club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng.

But Ian Holloway revealed the club have now banked the money for the Dutch playmaker, and set their sights on securing new faces.

Rs were concerned by recent reports that big money deals involving Chinese clubs stalled over administration.

Targets: Ian Holloway

"We’ve got loads of things spinning at the moment," the manager added.

"We’ve got the money, but we couldn’t release something so he couldn’t play. That’s methodical and that’s good."

"If I can get someone that’s right to play with Conor Washington, I think he’s going to score.

"We had two up (against Burton), and he scored, but I need those choices. It's not easy to get centre forwards in the window."
