Peterborough Director of Football Barry Fry has confirmed the club's interest in signing QPR midfielder Michael Doughty.
Speaking to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Fry said: "It could be a tough one to pull off, he's on good money at QPR."
The 24-year-old was recalled from a season-long loan at Swindon Town in January, with Ian Holloway claiming he wanted to give him a chance in the first team.
However Doughty has made just 12 first-team appearances for the Hoops, with nine of them coming from the bench.
The midfielder, who has one more year remaining on his contract, has had numerous loan moves while at the West London club, including spells at Crawley, Aldershot, St Johnstone, Stevenage and Gillingham.
It remains to be seen whether an official approach has been made, or for that matter, whether Holloway would be willing to lose the midfielder.
