Lasse Vibe insisted he is loving life at Brentford as he enters the last 12 months of his contract at the club.

The Dane is a fans' favourite at Griffin Park and has scored 29 Championship goals in 75 appearances.

The 30-year-old knows that he's unlikely to sign a lengthy contract and his mantra is just 'live in the moment'.

Vibe said: “I love living here. My family loves it as well. I've yet to live in a place I haven't loved. I've loved other places.

“I'm very happy at Brentford and I'm in a good position. As you get older, this world has shown that the probability of playing your contract out longer is bigger.

“I can't just sign a five-year deal at this age. I'm happy here and we'll see where that goes.”

Lasse Vibe celebrates his goal

Vibe confirmed that there have been talks regarding his future at the club, as GetWestLondon reported last month, but he wants to keep those private.

He added: “I have talks with the club every day, that being the manager and the directors of football have talks with me and my agent. It's something I like to keep between us.”

While younger players are handed long-term contracts, the likelihood is that Vibe would only be penning a year or two's extension but this is not something that bothers him.

He explained: “I think it's about living in the moment and not getting carried away. I've seen so many times with so many players with what can happen if you get too comfortable.

“In the blink of an eye you can have a new deal or a bad injury can end your career.”
