Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas remains hopeful that Jozabed will return to the Spanish side as a permanent signing after his loan deal expired.

The 26-year-old has returned to Fulham after Celta Vigo decided against signing him for the agreed release clause, which is thought to be around £4m, although they remain hopeful a deal will be done.

Jozabed scored twice in 19 La Liga appearances since joining on loan from the Cottagers, and teammate Aspas wants to see him back in Celta colours next season.

He told Radio Galega: "He wants to stay and the rest of his teammates want him to stay because he is an exceptional guy.

"I gave the club my opinion, and that is that I want him to remain.

"His release clause has to be lowered because it's quite high but we hope that, as the transfer window continues, everything returns to its place and that we can made a good offer to get him back.

"It would be good to keep our main players."
