Jack Collison hopes his spell on trial at QPR can earn him a deal - at Loftus Road or elsewhere.

The former West Ham midfielder has been training with the Hoops after being released by the Upton Park club at the end of the season, as revealed by Get West London earlier this month.

Collison was included in the 26-man squad for the pre-season tour to Germany and could play a part in Saturday's friendly with Red-Bull Leipzig.

And the Welsh international, who has been hampered by a knee problem in recent years, is hopeful he will win a contract.

He said: "The injury has been frustrating but the manager here has been good and not pushed me too hard on the first few days, he is easing me back in nicely.

"Hopefully I can start getting involved in some games and start showing people what I can offer them.

"If I come here and do well then you never know what can happen but I'm also just trying to get myself fit.

"There's no pressure, it's a fantastic club and at the moment I am just grateful to have the opportunity to train with some good players and a fantastic manager.

"We'll just see how it goes, If I do well in a couple of games then you never know. But, if not, then I will have least got some fitness and maybe some games and everyone is aware of my situation.

"So we will see what happens. For me it's just great to come here."
