Slavisa Jokanovic is already prepared to work to improve the Fulham squad in the summer after their play-off defeat.

The Whites are expected to resist offers for their leading players such as Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon, although the Serbian has insisted they will remain with the club.

Jokanovic is fully aware of where his side were lacking this season and will be taking the right steps to address it in the off-season.

When asked after their play-off loss at Reading whether the club were ready for the transfer window, Jokanovic replied: “I am always ready. The football department has to make the right steps this summer if we want to show ambition and desire and bring what the team needs.

The boss: Slavisa Jokanovic

“We've spoken all season about what we miss and where we can improve in our spot. If somebody leaves or not, or for another side

“I'm talking with the people in the club I don't expect our more important players to leave.”

Fulham will have plans and targets in mind for the summer as they bid to bridge the gap between themselves and the top two.

He added: “It's like all the teams. We try and show ambition and desire and try and be stronger than what we made this season and that's it.”
