Fulham's Icelandic defender Ragnar Sigurdsson has admitted he was surprised at the lack of offers for team mate Ryan Sessegnon in the season, but has tipped him for the very top.
Sigurdsson has been away with the Iceland squad since the season ended, playing 90 minutes as his country pulled of yet another shock, beating Croatia 1-0 thanks to a Hordur Magnusson goal off his shoulder.
That win puts them level on points with Croatia at the summit of Group I on 13 points, but speaking at a domestic level, Sirgudsson has tipped the 17-year-old to go on and play at the very top level of English football.
Speaking to Goal , he said: "One hundred per cent (he can play in the Premier League), he's a great talent, he just turned 17 and he played more than half of the games this season, he scored a lot of goals.
"He has a very bright future.
"I’m just surprised he didn't get any offers during the season. I think he was that good. There's no surprise there (in reported interest)."
