Felix Magath plans to loan out Fulham’s young guns as he relies on old heads for the club’s survival fight.

The German coach has already allowed January signings Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole to head out and get regular game time, although he insists the pair have long-term futures at Craven Cottage.

Josh Passley, Lasse Vigen Christensen and Ange-Freddy Plumain were among the academy prospects handed debuts by former boss Rene Meulensteen.

But Magath says the club’s crop of talented youngsters need to go out on loan to develop.

He said: “I think that young players must play – they need practice. They need to be involved in game situations, so I prefer to loan them to other clubs.”
