Brentford midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma has left the club to join Greek side Panetolikos.

The Argentine was at the club on a non-contract basis and came off the bench against Rotherham in the Championship as well as against Exeter in the EFL Cup.

The 28-year-old was seen as a back-up option if the club's attempts to bring in the likes of Rico Henry and Sullay KaiKai failed to come off.

And Ledesma not being offered a contract should help herald the arrivals of much needed options out wide.

Brentford head coach Dean Smith told the club's official website: “Although he proved his fitness here we’ve got an abundance of players in his position and after more natural width than he can provide.

“I hope he proves a success at his new club in Greece.”

Ledesma has spent several years in England, starting at QPR before plying his trade at Walsall, Middlesbrough and Rotherham.
