Hayes & Yeading have signed long-term target Inih Effiong on loan from Chesham United, Get West London understands.
United have been chasing Effiong since the summer of 2012 when manager Nas Bashir started rebuilding the side following relegation from the Conference Premier.
They were priced out of a move for the powerful forward at the time and had to look at other options.
Effiong signed an 18-month contract with Chesham United in December 2012, having scored seven goals in as many games in a successful loan spell towards the back end of the 2011012 season.
But he has slipped down the pecking order at the Meadow in recent times, falling below Chris Dillon and Drew Roberts, and has been looking for a fresh challenge, with an initial month-long stay at Hayes & Yeading believed to have been agreed.
Effiong began his career as a youth player at St Albans City in 2008, joined Boreham Wood.
