Toumani Diagouraga still has a part to play in Brentford's promotion push, according to manager Mark Warburton.

The midfielder has featured just once since Warburton took charge in December and was sent to League Two outfit Portsmouth for a month on Monday.

But while Shaleum Logan and Farid El Alagui were loaned out for the remainder of the campaign, Diagouraga is expected back at Griffin Park for a hectic schedule in March.

"We need to make sure all of the players are match fit when they are called upon," said boss Warburton.

"Toumani can go out and play four or five games, so he will be ready for us when he is needed.

"We have a continuity and consistency at the moment, so it's hard to change a winning team."
