Florian Jozefzoon earned himself an extension to his Brentford deal, revealed an excited Dean Smith.

The Dutchman moved to Griffin Park in January where he signed a six month deal with an option for a further 12 months.

The club triggered that option earlier this summer but have now rewarded the former Ajax and PSV Eindhoven man with a new contract that won't expire until 2019.

And Smith was delighted to see the 26-year-old extend his stay at Griffin Park by a further 12 months.

“Florian showed the staff enough last season to earn himself a new contract. He excited us when he made his debut against Aston Villa and hasn’t disappointed since," the Brentford head coach told the club's official website

“We are really pleased that Flo has signed a longer-term contract with the Football Club. He will be a great addition.”

Jozefzoon made 19 appearances last season, six of those from the start, scoring once while providing three further goals.
