Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has not ruled out a transfer swoop for QPR attacker Ben Gladwin.

R’s chief Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink this week recalled Gladwin from his loan spell at former club Swindon Town and threw him straight back into the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest.

Gladwin played 53 minutes of the third-round tie before making way for Tjaronn Chery.

The versatile 23-year-old Loftus Road in the summer from the Robins after signing a three-year deal on the back of his 11-goal season in League One.

Coventry fans will recall the 6ft 3 inch tall player scored a fantastic goal five minutes from time to help the Robins salvage an unlikely point at the death.

When Gladwin's name was put to Mowbray, the manager said: “There are lots of players on our radar and that’s why I stay here into the night watching clips of players and talking to agents as we try to improve our group."

Fifa’s transfer regulations which states a player cannot play for more than two clubs in the same season, meaning Coventry would not be able to field Gladwin in competitive matches this term and are more likely to wait until the summer before making a move.

Meanwhile, Rangers are thought to be leading the race to sign highly-rated Peterborough United striker Conor Washington.

Director of football Les Ferdinand has been to watch Washington in action and has been impressed by the Posh forward this season.
