Chinese-owned Serie A giants Inter Milan have plans to secure the signature of three players rumoured to be on Antonio Conte's shopping list, according to today's transfer speculation in Italy.

Inter manager Stefano Pioli yesterday told the Radio Anch'io lo Sport station of the plans of owner Suning Holdings Group to spend big this month and in the summer.

Although Pioli did not name targets, today's Corriere dello Sport says the Nerazzurri have Roma defender Kostas Manolas , Lazio stopper Stefan de Vrij and PSG midfielder Marco Verratti – among others – in their sights.

The Italian sports paper says Inter are in the running for Greece international and Chelsea target Manolas – who has said he will not renew his contract at Roma – and who is being targeted as a more viable option for Inter than the club's first-choice defensive acquisition, PSG's Marquinhos.

There is potentially brighter news for the Blues on de Vrij, with La Corriere speculating Inter's attempts to sign the Dutchman are liable to be scuppered by the player's desire to move to England.

PSG's Verratti – another player linked with Chelsea manager Conte – is a principal target for Inter, who have spoken to his agent, with the French club expected to demand at least €80 million (£68.7m) for the midfielder's services.
