Middlesbrough have finally tied up a loan deal for Chelsea hotshot Patrick Bamford.

We told you earlier this week that the striker was ready to complete his move to the Riverside after Boro had beaten the likes of Brentford and QPR to his signature.

The 20-year-old spent successful loans at MK Dons and Derby County last season and will continue his education in the Championship.

“It’s taken a while but I’m glad to finally be here,” Bamford said.

“I had a chat with Aitor about ten days ago, but there was a hold up in the paperwork after I’d decided it was Middlesbrough that I wanted to go to.

“It seemed to take forever to go through but then it was just a case of getting up here for the game on Saturday.”

Bamford joins Kenneth Omeruo in moving to Boro on loan from the Blues.
