Radamel Falcao's Chelsea nightmare could be coming to an end as the club look to offload their striking flop.

The Telegraph reported that the Colombian is in Spain and could return to his former club, where he had his most prolific spell, although these have been denied.

Falcao scored 70 goals in 90 games during his two years with Atletico, which included a hat-trick against Chelsea.

He went to Monaco where he suffered a cruciate ligament injury before joining Manchester United last season.

He was a flop at Old Trafford, scoring four goals in 24 appearances, but Jose Mourinho felt he may have some success with him, bringing the striker to Stamford Bridge.

However, his time in west London has also been a bust, with just one Premier League goal to his name and the club explored the option of ending his loan from Monaco early.

Madrid, who brought Fernando Torres back to the club last year, may want another former favourite back at the Vicente Calderon.
