Chelsea are reportedly trying to push through a deal for a third signing from Atletico Madrid this summer – with Brazilian defender Miranda this time their target.

The Blues, who have already raided the Spanish side for Diego Costa and Filipe Luis , are said to have made a £20 million bid for the centre back, but Atletico will push for closer to the player's buyout clause of around £25million.

Atletico are also keen to avoid losing any more players, but Blues boss Jose Mourinho is personally pushing for the deal to be completed as soon as possible, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

In a twist of fate, Atletico could also end Chelsea's interest in Ezequiel Lavezzi, as Paris St Germain have reportedly offered the Argentine winger to the Spanish side.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone is believed to be very keen in luring his fellow countryman, who the Blues have been keeping a close eye on, to Spain, according to The Express.

The same newspaper reports that Chelsea are one one of the clubs to have had a large offer for Napoli's Italian attacker Jose Callejon rejected.

Former Blues boss Rafa Benitez, now in charge of Napoli, boss revealed that the 27-year-old has been the subject of several big bids, and Mourinho is believed to be keen on a reunion with a player who featured under him for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, having already taken Kenneth Omeruo on loan and emerged as front-runners to borrow Patrick Bamford, Middlesbrough could return to Stamford Bridge to loan another Blues youngster.

George Saville , who had a successful loan spell with Brentford last season, and who has also attracted interest from Wigan, is bound for the Riverside Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.
