Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew hit back at Neil Warnock after the former Eagles manager said he thought Charlie Austin would be a good fit at Selhurst Park.
Pardew took exception to Warnock's comments to talkSPORT earlier in the week and responded in kind at a press conference ahead of Palace's FA Cup game at Southampton on Saturday, where he also claimed he he was not looking to sign the QPR striker.
"Neil Warnock was the manager here and he didn't do very well so I am not really interested in his opinion," said Pardew.
"Charlie Austin is of no interest to us."
Pardew also criticised the transfer rumours circulating the club, saying there was no truth in the any of the names, including Emmanuel Adebayor, that have been linked with a move to Palace in January.
He said: "In this media-savvy world that the managers have to be in now, you have to know exactly what is being said and what is going around and I have seen all the players that have been linked with us and not one of those is true.
"Somebody is giving out false information. We are looking at one or two choices but the names that have been linked with us, it is not them.
"You are always having to make progress. We all know the prize in May of staying in the Premier League.
"There is a little less pressure on us but that doesn't mean we are not in the game and we are determined to make sure there is business there if it is right for us."
