Brentford are unlikely to bring Emiliano Marcondes to Griffin Park early, with FC Nordsjaelland unwilling to allow the winger to leave this summer.

The Bees have agreed a pre-contract agreement with the Dane and he will move to west London in January.

Jota's departure had potentially paved the way for Marcondes to make the move four months early but the Danish club are determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old.

"His signing is another indication of us looking towards the future and preparing for what's to come," manager Dean Smith told the club website when the deal was first announced.

"We have a good knowledge of Danish football and we feel that Emiliano can progress further with us."

Marcondes has made a strong start to the Danish Superliga season, scoring twice in the first seven games.
