Brentford striker Scott Hogan will undergo a medical ahead of joining Aston Villa on deadline day after the Bees accepted a deal worth up to £15million.

The Villans, who travel to Griffin Park tonight, joined the race to sign the frontman on Monday night and have matched the Bees' valuation.

West Brom, West Ham, Crystal Palace were all in the race to sign the 24-year-old but the Hammers, who had been publicly courting the striker all January, pulled out of the race on deadline day morning.

And Villa, unlike the east Londoners, were able to do a speedy deal with Brentford and it appears that the month-long transfer saga is ending.

Hogan has scored 14 goals for the Bees so far this season, after scoring seven goals in seven appearances at the end of the last campaign.

It leaves Brentford facing an eight-hour battle to bring in a replacement with Lasse Vibe and Philipp Hofmann the only available striker.
